A Development Vision for Our Urban Neighborhoods

Norwalk is a diverse city in many ways, from demographics, geography, physical form and where and how we live. While this can present challenges, it also creates opportunities. How do all the different neighborhoods tie together to help form a cohesive city with opportunities for everyone? Neighborhood planning is one way to look and plan for an area of the city while also accounting for how it fits into the larger city structure.

The City has just completed a TOD plan for East Norwalk.

In 2019 the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency in partnership with the city adopted the 10-year Redevelopment Plan for the Wall Street/West Avenue plan area. Past plan areas included the Washington Street/South Main neighborhoods.
